U.S. Capitol Police will begin fielding military surveillance equipment as part of sweeping security upgrades as the force becomes "an intelligence-based protective agency" after the Jan. 6 attack. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin recently approved a Capitol Police request for eight Persistent Surveillance Systems Ground - Medium (PSSG-M) units.

In a stunning new order aimed at high-ranking individuals in the intelligence community, presiding Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court Judge James Boasberg issued the first ruling against the FBI, claiming that they knowingly misled the courts in order to obtain a warrant and spy on President Trump's campaign in 2016.

On January 10, 2020, FBI Director Christopher Wray gave the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court a figurative middle finger. Wray filed a response to the court's December 17, 2019 order reacting to shocking revelations of the FBI lying to procure and maintain a warrant to spy on the Trump campaign by surveilling Carter Page.
