'Free speech' Reddit clone Voat says it will shut down on Christmas

How '1917' Cinematographer Filmed the Whole Movie in One Shot
Music & Entertainment Blogs · Jan 21, 2020 by Fred Topel

The acclaimed war movie 1917 looks like the entire movie occurs in a single shot with no cuts. Of course, it took more than 100 minutes or even a single day to make the film. Director Sam Mendes and cinematographer Roger Deakins still filmed impressively long takes and combined the shots seamlessly.

Imagine making your commute home, bracing yourself for the human tsunami that is sure to greet you when cutting through a busy train station. Only this time, instead of the din of a bustling crowd, you're met by an angelic chorus.

Sigur Rós (Heima): A musical instrument made from stones.

Its a scene from the movie Heima by Sigur Rós, in which they talk about one of the guys who collects stones to make a beautiful sounding Marimba. I love Sigur Rós.

Only one movie in history has been both an unmitigated disaster and a runaway smash
Music & Entertainment Blogs · Jun 09, 2019 by Tom Breihan

It's one of the oldest stories in Hollywood. A grand, ambitious movie production descends into chaos. The budget balloons. The script is hastily rewritten. The stars or directors or producers start acting like petty tyrants. Maybe a storm destroys a set. Maybe an entire new ending has to be written on the fly.
